Valentine’s Day Cupcakes

Since February is just around the corner (and we all know what’s the big day in February), I decided to bake some gourmet cupcakes.

These Valentine’s Day Cupcakes are basically my Red Velvet Cupcakes, but I touched them up a little a bit aesthetically. The little candy hearts and pearls give the cupcakes a little bit of crunch, giving the cupcake a variation in texture which I thought it needed.

I made the filigree chocolate heart decorations myself by tempering chocolate and drawing them out myself onto a bit of parchment paper. The lettering is also done by yours truly 🙂 I feel quite accomplished looking at these pictures really.

These were baked as a gift, and I do hope the recipient likes it. Because I really did put my heart and soul into baking these, and I think that’s what food lives on. The idea that someone bothered to take the time to prepare and cook and wash up for someone else in order to make sure they were well-fed and nourished. Although in my case, it may by hurtling in the opposite direction because I’m probably going to give people diabetes with all my baked goods, but still! I put a lot of effort to give them a well-needed sugar rush.
